The AMD Alveo™ MA35D is a multimedia accelerator card designed to revolutionize high-volume streaming, delivering ultra-low latency, optimal video quality, and support for cutting-edge codecs.

Before the AMA Portal, users relied on technical documentation to set up the MA35D, which made the process complex and prone to errors. Firmware updates and installation validation also depended on manual steps, increasing the likelihood of mistakes and complicating the efficient evaluation and adoption of the technology by customers.

Challenge

The main challenge was to develop a tool that simplified the setup and configuration of the Alveo™ MA35D card, eliminating the complexity and errors associated with manual processes. The goal was to provide users with an intuitive interface that allowed them to install, update, and evaluate the card without the need for specialized technical support, thereby improving accessibility and efficiency in product adoption.

Process

From the very beginning, the Qualabs development team worked closely with AMD to understand and address the specific needs related to the MA35D card. While there was a general vision of the desired tool, the operational details and final user expectations were defined and refined through continuous dialogue. This open communication and collaborative approach made it possible to identify new opportunities to improve the product, tailoring the solution to the real needs of end users and exceeding initial expectations.

The project began with the goal of creating an application that automated the steps required to install the card and provided basic metrics. As meetings progressed and feedback was received from the client, the tool evolved to include additional features, such as hardware metrics visualization and interactive demos showcasing the card's capabilities in real-world scenarios.

The interface design was also a key factor. What started as a technical tool transformed into a more accessible and professional experience, improving usability and instilling confidence among both end users and AMD stakeholders.

Solution

The final result was the AMA Portal, a tool that fully automates the installation and configuration process for the Alveo™ MA35D card. The application offers:

Automated installation: Automatically downloads and installs the AMD AMA Video SDK packages, detecting and configuring the card without manual intervention.

Simple updates: Allows firmware updates with a single click, ensuring users always have access to the latest features and improvements.

Real-time monitoring: Provides detailed information about the card’s status and performance, including hardware metrics, enabling users to effectively evaluate its capabilities.

Interactive demos: Includes practical examples that let users test and explore the card’s capabilities in real-world scenarios, offering a deeper understanding of its benefits.

By simplifying these processes, the AMA Portal drastically reduces the likelihood of errors and enhances the user experience, allowing even those with limited technical expertise to fully leverage the power of the MA35D.

“For any product, the first impression is critical, and the MA35D sets the standard by enabling live streaming in just minutes. The AMA Portal is a key component, streamlining the entire setup process while providing an intuitive interface to unlock the full potential of the card's advanced capabilities. Achieving this level of efficiency and user experience would not have been possible without the deep technical expertise and collaborative support of our trusted partners at Qualabs.”

Results

The implementation of the AMA Portal has transformed how users interact with the Alveo™ MA35D card. By eliminating the complexities of installation and configuration, the tool has:

Accelerated the evaluation and adoption process: Customers can now install and test the card quickly and efficiently, enabling faster and better-informed purchasing decisions.

Reduced reliance on specialized technical support: With an intuitive interface and automated processes, users need less assistance, reducing both costs and implementation time.

Improved customer satisfaction: A smoother, hassle-free user experience has increased satisfaction and confidence in the product, further strengthening AMD’s capabilities in the market.

The new AMA Portal not only solves the technical challenges associated with the MA35D but also raises the bar for presenting and enabling the adoption of advanced technology in the streaming and video processing industry.
